Ryan’s Round up
Here's Ryan’s round up from last week which was a busy one, and included seeing Bubba win again for the second time. A different format on the PGA Tour this week with the WGC matchplay, a format most of you would of played, either in club competitions or just for fun. I always have enjoyed matchplay and the one on one nature of it. However, personally I haven’t enjoyed watching this event as much in recent years and preferred the old format of straight out knockout competition, rather than the round robin format they do now.
I’m a firm believer of if you lose you should be out. The last man standing was Bubba Watson, again his second win of the season and now has to be one of the favourites to add to his two green jackets. On Monday and Tuesday this week was the start of my 2018, playing in the 2018 PGA East Region Qualifying School, my first experience of this having turned pro last September. I had previously played two small events in October but this was my first start of year.
Monday was a great day for golf, dry and warm, I managed to take advantage of this and shot three under par to put myself in a tie for second with the leader shooting a rediculous score of seven under. Tuesday the weather was not so friendly, playing my front nine in constant rain. With the course playing much harder, I shot three over to finish at level par overall. I finished in a tie for eighth, but most importantly beat the boss which is always nice. Hopefully you have enjoyed this weeks round up. And will keep you all updated next week. |
