As you can see the results are very consistent and this is one of the concerns with ONE length. Will a shorter long iron go less distance than its normal counterpart? Will a longer short iron go further than its normal counterpart?
Well from my personal experience this year in my own bag, and from these results from John, you can clearly see this can be put to bed. The clubs gap how they are meant to! Over to John:
After reading about the Cobra F7 ONE length irons I thought they must be a good idea as I generally hit my 6 iron quite well and, every club being a similar length to my 6, it may sort out some of my miss hit shots, so I decided to take Matt’s ONE length Cobra challenge.
I had a go on the range first and the next day a gap session with Matt to get accurate distances prior to my first 9 hole trial. My game is normally between 95-110 and my best is a 93, but I haven’t got close to that for a while . I surprised myself on the range, most shots appeared to be going further than my own clubs and a lot straighter. Either I was on form or these Cobras do work! On monday I had the gap session with Matt and noted the distance in the air and overall including roll - yes they do go further than my old faithful clubs I’ve had for years! Apart from a couple of times, most were straight, I’m now excited to go onto course and see any changes.
Tuesday morning update - just shot 97, clubs feel comfortable, a couple poor shots but generally just getting used to the distances as the course is always harder than the teaching bay.
