Greetings golfers,

Even with an unsettled week of weather it didn't stop a busy week of fixtures on site. Especially on Wednesday when over 50 players, and then even more guests, attended Russell's Senior Captain’s Day and lunch. Even though there were some heavy rain showers, it didn't spoil the day and everyone that took part had a great day. Congratulations to Russell on hosting a very successful event.

Coaching news

This is why I do it

One of the reasons I love coaching is getting people to milestones in their golfing careers. Golf for most people is a past time, hobbie, and even a passion, and whether you know it or not you will have goals in mind. It could be to make your first par, birdie etc. Eventually par every hole on the course, get to a certain handicap or even break 100.

I have had some great success stories recently. A number of players I coach have broken the 100 barrier, enjoyed their best ever rounds, improved handicaps and other little things, like make their first ever birdie.

Join the gang

For those of you that don't know, each person gets an 'Edufii' training space where you get your lesson notes uploaded with images, drills and comparisons for you to not only remember what we did in the lesson, but also to remind you what you need to practice before the next session. We also use the award winning launch monitor GC2 and HMT.

What's more, the July Coaching offer on 9 hole playing lesson has been extended into August, where you can book a 9 hole playing lesson for ONLY £40 saving £20 OFF the normal rate. Golf is about getting the ball in the hole in as few a shots as possible! So if you find that you don't do a thing wrong on the range or putting green but your scores don't reflect how you play, this could be for you.

Think you’re a good putter? Prove it!

This Saturday we will have the best putter in the club competition. An opportunity for you to try out some putters from the shop but more importantly prove you can roll the rock! The winner will receive a new Odyssey putter and it only costs £2 to enter!

The event will run from 8am until 1pm on the putting green.

 

Junior coaching

Ryan will be holding junior group classes every Saturday at 10am or 11am throughout the summer holidays. There is no commitment, just make the ones you can. Each class is only £6 per junior.

How do you compare?

You will have heard us mention the importance of the ‘scoring zone’ on various occasions, but we can’t stress enough just how vital this area is to lowering your scores. Take a close look at these up-and-down charts below:

While having great technique is certainly very important for this, and we can help with that, so is having an evenly gapped wedge set-up that gives you an option from every possible situation.
