Greetings from the team at Stevenage Golf Centre
This week I got my 2017 season off to a start. I wish I could report back a winning start but I can't. however a T12 finish at 1 over par was not a bad effort considering I haven't played competitively since October. I also had the pleasure of having Stevenage Golf Club Member Rich Moore on the bag, which was not only a luxury as I didn't have to carry my bag but also good as he had a very positive attitude.
Rich is hosting a FREE presentation next Thursday 23rd February on the mental side of the game and I couldn't recommend enough that you listen to rich about his research and ideas.
It seems every week this year we have been reporting about new products in store this week is no different.
From FootJoy we have received new products like the HyperFlex II, AWD XL casuals, plus brand new lines with the Energize and the highly anticipated Pro/SL shoe.
From Puma we have some great shoes including the Rickie Fowler 'HighTops' which are a real love them or hate them product!
Titleist have launched the new ProV1 and Pro V1x which have been met with rave reviews.
Lastly we have a new 'Store' in-store from Motocaddy and a new fleet of Rental trolley's which includes the new DHC (Down Hill Control) .
We still have a few items in the sale that might temp you:
- Callaway Waterproofs are 25% OFF
- Titleist 2016 model ProV1 are ONLY £30 a dozen
The shop is really starting to look good at the moment so why not 'swing' in and have a look.
Who can say no to a free grip?
It is the time of the year for a little MOT on your clubs, and to help, I am offering to re-grip your 7 iron (or any other club to be honest) for FREE.
Pop into the shop and we will advise you on the correct grip and size that would benefit you the most. You will certainly see a difference if you haven't re-gripped your clubs for a while.
Click here for more info on why you should be re-gripping.
Please also check your shoes for the correct spikes, it can be slippery and wet in certain areas and the right spikes are vital for this time of the year.
Lynx will be back on Thursday 23rd February between 3:30pm and 7:30pm. Don't miss out on your chance to try their brand new Black Cat driver which Sky Sports commentator Nick Dougherty put straight in the bag.
As we mentioned last week, we also have Cobra coming to Stevenage on the 2nd of March, 4pm-8pm.
Cobra will be showcasing their revolutionary new F7 range of Drivers with Accros GPS software & Fairway woods as well as the much talked about ONE length irons.
With limited appointments available on both days, please click here to take advantage and secure one of the 8 FREE slots.
We also have some great products to demo and custom fit, as mentioned previously we are now a Cobra authorised fitting centre and offer the new F7 Drivers and ONE length irons. If you are looking at upgrading your products why not ask us if you can trade in your current clubs to put towards your new ones.

A new feature this week comes from the green staff:
To keep members and customers informed about the golf course and what our plans are we want to let you know what works you can expect to take place by the greens team this month.
We are currently cutting the greens at 7mm and plan to aerate to a depth of 18mm. We will also be adding some granular fertiliser. The tees are currently being cut to 15mm and weather dependant will be sand dressed every other week. The bunkers are a constant battle but we will be continually blow and rake leaves from them. We plan to re-turf the tops of the 12th 13th and 16th holes. The distribution of sand has already started. We also plan some further tree works and tidying up of scrub and low branches as we have done on the 4th.
More investment - In January we installed 6 'Power Tee' bays. Next up we are putting in some new dividers. They aren't quite finished yet but you can already see how they are beginning to look. We think they look really smart, why not come and try them out and remember we have late night range sessions on Tuesday and Thursday with happy hours on the range and in the bar!
An evening with Peter Alliss - As part of SLL we have links with other sites. Late yesterday I had an email regarding an evening with Peter Alliss. I've only had a little information regarding the evening but as I get more info I will let you know. It is at Gordon Craig Theatre on Tuesday 7th March.
